Mr. Vishnupriya Hathwar is the Director of Experiential Education, Trainings & Camps at Vanalok Foundation, where he leads the design and implementation of innovative nature-based learning programmes for schools, colleges, educators, and professionals. With over 15 years of diverse experience spanning environmental education, eco-tourism, wildlife research, alternative education, lake conservation, and entrepreneurship, he has dedicated his career to making nature an integral part of learning.
Holding a Bachelor's degree in Science and a Master's degree in Biotechnology, Vishnupriya has worked extensively with educational institutions, environmental organisations, and community initiatives across India. He has served as a biology teacher, curriculum designer, mentor, and consultant, impacting hundreds of teachers and learners through experiential education and interdisciplinary pedagogy. He has also mentored advanced learners, supported children with learning difficulties through nature- and art-based approaches, and contributed to lake conservation and biodiversity awareness initiatives.
A passionate nature educator, author, illustrator, and entrepreneur, Vishnupriya has edited environmental newsletters and developed engaging science-based illustrations and "science toons" that make scientific concepts accessible and enjoyable for young minds. At Vanalok, he has been instrumental in conceptualising and delivering pioneering initiatives such as the Nature Integrated Learning Programmes (NILP), promoting immersive, interdisciplinary, and place-based education rooted in nature. Through his leadership, he continues to inspire educators and learners to foster environmental stewardship, curiosity, and lifelong connections with the natural world.
