Shri K. Gangappa Gowda

Shri K. Gangappa Gowda is a distinguished education administrator and former Director of Public Instruction (Primary Education), Government of Karnataka, with an exemplary career spanning nearly three decades in public education. Beginning his service as a Probationary Educational Officer in 1978, he held several key leadership positions, including Headmaster, Principal, Assistant Educational Officer, Deputy Director of Public Instruction, Joint Director of Public Instruction, and Director of Public Instruction (Primary Education). He also served as the State-Level NSS Coordinator for the Department of Pre-University Education.

Following his retirement, Shri Gangappa Gowda continued his service to education as the State Educational Advisor to the Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society and currently serves as the State Secretary of The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Karnataka. His outstanding contributions have been recognised through numerous honours, including the Bravery Award from the Government of Karnataka, the Best DDPI (Administration) Award, Gurukula Award, Bengaluru Ratna Award, and several other prestigious recognitions. His unwavering dedication to educational excellence, youth leadership, and character-building continues to make a lasting impact on Karnataka's education system.
