Every classroom has the power to shape how the next generation treats the planet. The Green Teacher Awards – Karnataka 2026 shines a spotlight on educators who turn that power into action — through gardens, green campuses, conservation drives and community-led change.
The Green Teacher Awards – Karnataka recognises and celebrates teachers who have taken meaningful initiatives towards environmental sustainability, nature education, conservation, waste management, biodiversity, and creating greener schools and communities.

How to Participate
Six Simple Steps to Your Nomination
Register / Nominate
Complete the online nomination form with your basic details and school information. Nominate yourself, or a teacher you work with.
Submit Your Green Initiative
Share the title (file name format: GSN<Title>), description, your role, number of
students/community members involved, and the outcomes achieved.
Upload Evidence
Upload clear photographs (<1MB), PPT/PDF (<5MB) or a video (max 10MB) showcasing your activity.
Organiser Shortlisting
After nominations close, the organisers will shortlist 15 participants for the public voting phase.
Public Voting
The Top 10 participants will advance to the final presentation round based on the voting outcome.
Final Presentation & Awards
The Top 10 present their initiative before the jury panel on 5th September 2026. Judged on innovation, impact, participation, sustainability, scalability & overall effectiveness, five teachers are honoured as Best Green Teachers of Karnataka 2026.

How Voting Works
From Fifteen, to Ten, to Five
Eligible nominations are first reviewed by the organisers, following which 15 participants are shortlisted for the public voting phase. Those shortlisted nominations are then showcased on the online voting platform, where the general public can vote for their preferred Green Teacher initiatives.
15 Shortlisted
The organisers review every eligible nomination and shortlist 15 for public voting.
10 Advance on the Vote
Share your green story on WhatsApp, social media and your school network. Based on the voting outcome, 10 participants go through to the final round.
5 Are Honoured
The Top 10 finalists present before the jury on 5th September 2026. After the presentations and jury evaluation, five teachers are selected and honoured as Best Green Teachers of Karnataka 2026.

Nominate Yourself or a Colleague
Teachers can nominate themselves through the online nomination form, or nominate another teacher they work with. Either way, use the contact details of the teacher being nominated so we can reach them.
Own Implementation Only
The submitted initiative/activity should have been implemented by the teacher in their school, organization or community.
Photo Permissions (T&C)
Participants should ensure they have the necessary permission to use and submit photographs containing students or other individuals.
Showcase Your Strongest Work
Multiple activities may be mentioned, but participants are encouraged to showcase their strongest and most impactful initiative.
Jury Decision is Final
The decision of the jury panel will be final.
Availability for Final Presentation
Shortlisted participants must be available to present their work on 5th September 2026.
